Welcome

I am a licensed clinical psychologist with many years of experience working with adults and children in various settings, and a background in psychological assessment. I hold a Ph.D. in clinical psychology from Long Island University, as well as a Masters in Teaching from Fordham University, and an undergraduate degree, with honors, from The University of Chicago. I completed postdoctoral training at the William Alanson White Institute. I now teach and supervise doctoral students at Yeshiva University in addition to maintaining a private practice in Brooklyn Heights. Colleagues, students, and patients have described me as warm, perceptive, and skillful. I have extensive training in psychodynamic theory and practice, as well as other evidence-based treatments for a variety of psychological difficulties, and I employ a tailored approach that considers the individual needs of each person.

Although I specialize in therapy for those suffering from traumatic experiences, anxiety, depression, and difficulty with mood, attention, and relationships,  I have experience treating a wide range of issues. Those benefiting from my services are of various ages and backgrounds and have suffered from an array of problems, including mood disorders, PTSD, gender dysphoria, medical issues, eating disorders, separation/divorce, and grief. My tailored approach is rooted in psychodynamic theory and praxis. I draw from various treatment modalities, including Dialectical Behavioral Therapy (DBT), Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), couples and parent-child therapy, and attachment and mentalization-based psychotherapy, to create an empathic environment in which longstanding difficulties can be safely explored and changed.

Stemming from my prior work in schools, I also specialize in child and parent-child treatment and perform neuropsychological evaluation. Evaluation can help identify and understand learning disorders and psychiatric diagnoses. They elucidate experiences of autism, ADHD, expressive-language disorders, slowed processing speed, as well as math and reading disorders. Results from neuropsychological evaluation shed light on the nuances of a person's experience and help secure accommodations and services for those needing support.
